Processing cost review
A side-by-side comparison of what your business pays to accept card payments today and what a proposed alternative through True Data Merchant Services would cost, based on your own recent activity.
What the review compares
Processing costs are spread across several charges, some billed monthly and some once a year. The review puts each one side by side.
- Transaction charges
- Percentage and per-transaction charges, which often vary by card type and by how a card is accepted.
- Monthly and annual fees
- Statement, account, compliance, and minimum-volume fees, including any billed once a year.
- Gateway costs
- Fees for accepting payments online or through business software, whether charged by the processor or by a separate gateway.
- Equipment
- Terminals and card readers you own or lease, and what any lease still requires.
- Contract terms
- Contract length, automatic renewal, and early termination fees.
What you receive
True Data prepares a comparison of your current and proposed costs in each of those categories, calculated from the transaction volume and card mix on your recent statements. It shows:
- The estimated monthly and annual difference
- One-time costs of switching, such as an early termination fee or new equipment, listed separately
- Anything the estimate can’t account for
If your current arrangement compares well, the comparison shows that too.
The figures are estimates. Actual costs depend on your future volume and card mix, and on the final terms of any account.

Beyond processing costs
A review stands on its own. Some businesses also want payments to reach their invoices, customer records, and reports without being typed in again. That’s a separate project, and you can ask about it with or without a review.
